An exhibition of paintings by the artist Toomas Pikhof, entitled ‘States of Mind’, will open on 3 November in the foyer on the ground floor of the North Estonia Medical Centre – ten of the paintings on display will be put up for auction, with the proceeds donated by the artist to the ‘Kingitud elu’ cancer treatment fund.
Bids can be placed on the www.kingitudelu.ee website and on the fund’s Facebook page from the opening of the exhibition until it closes on 1 December.
Toomas Pikhof’s sixth solo exhibition comprises 13 abstract paintings that speak of shadows and light, uncertainty, regret, but also of the joy of life, love and fear – everything that stirs within our souls when we must tread the dark path of life and death, and of hope and hopelessness.
“This exhibition of paintings is a journey into the human inner world, to a place where words do not always reach, to pause and look within, to acknowledge one’s fears, hopes and the transience of life,” said Toomas Pikhof, describing the exhibition.
