ART SAVES LIVES ⟩ 7,080 euros were raised for cancer patients through Toomas Pikhof’s paintings

Until 1 December, art lovers were able to visit the exhibition of paintings by the artist Toomas Pikhof, entitled ‘States of Mind’, in the foyer on the ground floor of the North Estonia Medical Centre. Ten of the paintings on display were sold at auction, raising €7,080 to support the treatment of cancer patients.

The most competitive bidding was for the painting ‘The Garden of the Subconscious’, which fetched a final price of 950 euros (see attached photo).

“I am always deeply moved when someone is willing to contribute their time, skills and goodwill to the foundation’s work,” said Margit Saar-Kraavi, CEO of Kingitud Elu. “Toomas Pikhof’s contribution is of profound significance to the charity, as the artist expresses himself through his work, the subject matter of which is so personal to him, and at the same time this act helps people with cancer by giving them hope and extending their lives.”

Margit Saar-Kraavi is calling on anyone who feels they could donate their artwork or handicrafts to Kingitud Elu. “All proposals for collaboration are welcome. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us! Charitable acts involving creative work always have profound significance.”
