Diffuse responsibility

Raising a child is not a task that can be delegated, nor is it a service that can be shared. It is a relationship that requires presence and responsibility. When responsibility begins to be spread across roles and institutions, the watchful eye under which a child truly grows up is lost. And when that watchful eye is lost, the child no longer knows to whom they truly belong.
